The EnviroCube management system can increase the efficiency of any Computer Room Air Conditioning (CRAC) system. The EnviroCube system is a network-based monitoring and control unit which receives control information from a network console such as CA’s EcoMeter software. The Cube includes two components:

The EnviroCube Main Unit
The EnviroCube main unit is placed in the supply stream of your CRAC or CRAH unit. It measures the full spectrum of energy variables from your cooling unit including all heat energy removed and all electrical energy consumed.


Beyond Measurement to Precise Control
The EnviroCube also contains an analog output to control an Electrical Commutation Unit (ECU) or Variable Frequency Drive (VFD). By controlling the air flow with these units, you benefit from the affinity principal. This principal proves that small changes in air flow results in very large changes in energy consumption. For example, a 20% reduction in air flow produces a 49% reduction in fan energy usage.
